Crinkle-Sprinkle Cake Mix Cookies

While it can be easy to find a cake mix cookie recipe on social media platforms, this recipe has been tweaked to be party ready for any special occasion.
Pre-kid era, i loved baking for the basketball girls that I coached especially cake mix cookies because of the ease and yumminess. I stuck with the confetti, chocolate, and red velvet flavors back in those days because they were crowd pleaser with the teenagers.
Now i’m in my mom era and i needed to up my game— which led me to cake box crinkle cookies. Cover the cookie dough balls in powder sugar and viola, crinkle cookies.
But it was still missing something. Hmmmm…
Sprinkles! It needed some pizazz. And colorful sprinkles did just that.
The cookies not only taste great, but look amazing too. And now we use strawberry and lemon cake mix to add flavor and color to the rotation.
Crinkle-Sprinkle Cake Mix cookies
Ingredients:
box of cake mix (flavor of your choice)
1/3 cup of vegetable oil
2 eggs
powdered sugar
sprinkles
Directions:
preheat oven to 350 degrees.
mix together the cake mix, oil, and eggs in large bowl until dough forms.
optional - refrigerator dough for 30 mins to make it easier to roll the dough into balls.
form dough into balls.
roll dough balls in powdered sugar to completely cover each ball of dough.
line cookie sheet with parchment paper.
place dough balls on cookie sheet.
make a thumb indentation in the center of the dough.
spoon sprinkles into the center.
gently press down sprinkles with back of spoon.
bake in oven for 12-14 mins.
cool on cookie rack.
Don’t forget to have have a little fun and make it festive with seasonal sprinkles and food coloring.
For example:
Halloween
use the seasonal halloween funfetti cake mix or use yellow cake mix and add orange food coloring.
top with halloween sprinkles.
Christmas
use seasonal christmas funfetti cake mix or use white cake mix and add green food coloring or red velvet cake mix.
top with christmas sprinkles.
