This summer month was crazy— with enough balance to make it overwhelming in all the best ways. We got to do things we love with the people we love at the places we love.

Fourth of July weekend, the kids participated in their last baseball tournament together. Talk about bittersweet. While it was hot, the kids had a blast and even got to play under the stadium lights.

While we spent a ton of time with our baseball family, we also were fortunate to share sweet moments with some of those near and dear to us who we don’t always get to see. It was a nice reminder, that it is super important to make time for those that fill your cup. Life can get nuts, especially juggling four different individuals schedules, but it’s imperative that you don’t miss out on moments with your family and friends.

The kids have split their summer time between dad, mom, and nana. So going on mini adventures has been their thing— from outings to Sea Life Park, the mall, and the movies with Nana to running rampant, playing ball, and skateboarding with Dad to random outings like pickleball, the library, a Seven Suns concert and crafting with mom. And as a family, we got to enjoy a few days at our favorite place by the beach as well as sneak in little beach moments around the island.

As July drew to a close, we did the kids school prep— school supply shopping, kindergarten assessment, and classroom meet n greet. Let me say, school shopping with two kids is not for the weak. We also rearranged the kids room to give them a fresh look for the upcoming school year. Let’s see how long they can keep it clean for.

Personally, I began my transition to doing more day shifts and my body already appreciates the consistency that it’s giving me. Plus it has created more moments of presences for me with family and friends. I’m not fighting to stay awake, I just am. It’s crazy and wonderful after more than 10 years of working nights.

This month was good to us— for the most part. Kendyl would say hurting herself and being in a cast for weeks was not a highlight, but she handled it with such grace. On the bright side, it created an opportunity for us to do something special together— get our ears pierced!

Overall, many memories were made and we have lots to be grateful for. Especially for the people we are surrounded by.
